Typically 1000 mm (1 meter) long, they are similar to threaded studs but studs are usually less than 200 mm in length. Commonly referred to as "all thread" or "all thread rod," they are used in a variety of fastening applications especially when a long fastener is required but the length exceeds that of available bolts. Being headless, nuts may be used at each end particularly in situations like through-hole bolting and anchoring.
